Hollywood star Katie Holmes smiles as she reveals the nominees for the Golden Globe awards yesterday - with a Brit flick top of the list.
The announcement, at the Beverly Hills Hilton in California, is fantastic news for The King's Speech. It has seven chances to win, being nominated in key categories including Best Film Drama.
Leading man Colin Firth, who plays King George VI, is up for Best Actor in a Drama, Helena Bonham Carter could steal the gong for Best Supporting Actress, while co-star Geoffrey Rush is also nominated. Meanwhile, Idris Elba - hero of BBC police drama Luther - is up for Best Actor in the TV awards.
The 68th Golden Globes ceremony takes place on January 16, with comedian Ricky Gervais returning to the podium for the second time as host.
Voted for by the Hollywood foreign press they are usually seen as an indicator of who will glory at the Oscars.
