Synonymous with physical fitness, Jack LaLanne sadly passed away at the age of 96 at his Morro Bay, California home on Sunday, January 23, 2011.
The longtime "The Jack LaLanne Show" television host was reportedly comforted by loved ones as he succumbed to respiratory failure due to pneumonia.
Talking to Reuters, LaLanne's daughter Yvonne said, "He was surrounded by his family and passed very peacefully and in no distress ... and with the football game on Sunday, so everything was normal."
Mr LaLanne is said to have continued his fitness efforts right to the end, as he lived by the motto, "Exercise is king. Nutrition is queen. Put them together, and you've got a kingdom."
Along with Yvonne, Jack leaves behind a son, Dan Doyle, along with his wife, Elaine, and their son, Jon.
